Job Summary
Mass General Brigham for Children (MGBfC) is recruiting a dynamic and accomplished academic pediatric cardiologist to serve as Chief of the Division of Pediatric and Congenital Cardiology. The successful candidate will have a strong reputation as a clinician, scholar, mentor, and collaborative leader. The position includes an appointment at Harvard Medical School commensurate with the candidate’s experience and academic accomplishments. Applicants will preferably be at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, although exceptional candidates at other academic ranks may be considered.
Qualifications
The Division Chief will provide visionary leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for the division. This individual will be responsible for advancing the division’s clinical, academic, and educational programs; mentoring and supporting faculty and trainees across career stages; recruiting and retaining outstanding faculty and staff; and fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment that promotes excellence, innovation, and scholarship.
A particularly important responsibility of the next chief will be to define and advance the division’s strategic role within the Mass General Brigham Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI). Working closely with leadership across MGBfC, HVI, and the broader health system, the chief will have a crucial opportunity to strengthen the integration of pediatric and adult cardiovascular care, build programs that support patients across the lifespan, and develop a cohesive vision for the future of pediatric and congenital cardiovascular care at Mass General Brigham. The chief will also help ensure that the division’s clinical and academic priorities are aligned with those of the Department of Pediatrics, HVI, and the institution as a whole.
The Division of Pediatric and Congenital Cardiology provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for children and adolescents with congenital and acquired cardiovascular disease. Its accomplished faculty are committed to outstanding patient care, education, investigation, and collaboration across specialties and institutions. The division’s position within MGB and MGBfC creates distinctive opportunities to expand clinical programs, strengthen cardiovascular research and education, and develop innovative models of care extending from childhood through adulthood.
The successful candidate must be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology (though in some circumstances board certification in Adult Cardiology could be considered) and eligible for medical licensure in Massachusetts.
