Role Overview
As a Respiratory Therapy Extern, you'll play a vital role in supporting patient care under the supervision of Registered Respiratory Therapists. This position is designed for full-time students in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program, allowing you to apply classroom knowledge and clinical skills in a real-world hospital setting. Your contributions will directly impact patient outcomes while you gain valuable hands-on experience.

What You Will Do
- Perform basic respiratory therapy tasks under the supervision of Registered Respiratory Therapists.
- Apply skills learned in academic and clinical settings to support patient care.
- Demonstrate competency in theoretical and practical tasks as assessed by departmental leadership.
- Adhere to all Henry Ford Health departmental policies and procedures.
- Expand your scope of practice as you gain knowledge and experience.

- Full-time student in good standing in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Successful completion of academic and clinical competencies specific to each task.
Preferred Qualifications
- Affiliation with a Henry Ford Health-affiliated Respiratory Therapy program.
